BRYANT

Barbara J. Bryant, 75, of South Vienna, died Saturday, May 3, 2008 in her residence. She was born in Xenia, Ohio on July 27, 1932, the daughter of Roy James and Virginia May (Shinkle) Branch. Barbara was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kenneth Branch. Velma is survived by her husband of 59 years Kenneth Elwood Bryant, whom she married June 17, 1949; two sons and daughters-in-law Chris N. and Kay Bryant of London, Sampson and Connie Bryant of Tremont City, one sister Emily Atha of Springfield, Four grandchildren, Five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A gathering of friends and family will be Tuesday from 5-8 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME, where services will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM with Pastor Sampson Bryant officiating. Burial to follow in Deercreek Cemetery, Lafayette, Ohio. The family wishes to thank the staff of Community-Mercy Hospice and Home Health Care for their exceptional care of Barbara. DEMOSS

DeMoss, Gwelda M., of Springfield entered the Church Triumphant on Tuesday May 6, 2008 at the age of 88. Gwelda was born on June 21, 1919 in Clark County. She was the daughter of Arnold and Ethel (Clark) Dingeldein. She married Paul DeMoss Sr. on August 27, 1938. Gwelda was Executive Secretary to Community Hospital’s Administrator for over 35 years, was former owner of DeMoss Pastries and a life long member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. She is survived by son, Paul W. Jr. (Sue) DeMoss; four grandsons, Michael (Kimpy) Hawk, Perry (Danielle) Roeser, Rodney (Mitzi) Roeser, and James (Kathy) DeMoss; two granddaughters, Rebecca (Bob) Greene and Sherri (Brad) Wagner; numerous great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. DeMoss Sr; her parents; daughter, Dian C. Leslie; one grandson, Jeffrey DeMoss; one great-grandson, Justin Roeser. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Thursday May 8, 2008 in the JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS Funeral Home where service will be held 11AM Friday May 9, 2008, with one hour prior viewing, with Pastor Daniel M. Powell officiating. Interment to follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to Hospice Southwest  and Forest Glen Health Campus. N I C H O L S

Questa M. (Fraker), was born September 10, 1920 in Stratford, Ohio and raised in Coshocton, Ohio. She married Allen B. Nichols on November 10, 1947. Questa retired as a nurse at Mercy Medical Center after 35 years of service. She also offered over 5000 hours of volunteer service to the hospital. She was a member of Maiden Lane Church of God and was active in the Maiden Lane Reaching Hands for Missions. Her husband preceded her. She leaves many cherished friends including the Robert and Alice Goodfellow family and Barbara and Jim Pettigrew. Many Thanks to Dr. To and the wonderful staff at Villa Springfield for their care, and to Dr. Williams, Linda the nurse and the staff in the Emergency Department at Mercy Hospital. In keeping with Questa’s request private funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:15 p.m. at Jackson Lytle & Williams Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Donations may be directed to Villa Springfield.

LONGO

Longo, Anne Virginia James, 94, of Scottsdale, AZ, formerly of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2008, at Hospice of the Valley, Brighton Gardens, Scottsdale, Arizona. Anne was born on March 19, 1914, daughter of Louis B. and Edna S. (Petticrew) James and lived most of her life in Springfield. She loved music and played cello in the Springfield Symphony for 25 years, various chamber groups, and was an active member of the Fortnightly Music Club as well as being a pianist and organist.

Professionally, she was administrative assistant to Betty Pitzer at Elderly United for many years, worked also at AAA of Springfield and belonged to the Springfield Business & Professional Women's Club.

She loved her church family at Northminster Presbyterian and at Scottsdale Presbyterian where she was an active member and found them to be great sources for her spiritual happiness and comfort her entire life.

Anne was a very social person who had many friends with whom she remained in close contact with in Springfield using her cell phone to the fullest; was ready for lunch whenever she could go; enjoyed attending the Pyle Senior Center in Tempe, Arizona; and was always concerned about and loved her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Philip M. Longo of Huber Heights, Ohio and Elizabeth Longo (John) McKinnon of Mesa, Arizona; one brother, Theodore B. James of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Keri Rae Longo (Jose) Rios of Arlington, Texas, and James M. Longo of Oxford, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Dezarae and Lacey Rios of Arlington, Texas and many nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews whom she deeply loved.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Longo, Jr.; one sister, Mary Elizabeth (James) Reid; 3 brothers: Louis James, Joseph James, and Orin L. James; and her parents.

A "Celebration of Her Life" memorial service will be held at Northminster Presbyterian Church on Friday, May 16, 2008, at 1:00 PM. Interment is in Ferncliff Cemetery in Springfield, Ohio.

COLLINS

Jessie M. Collins, 78, passed on to our Lord on May 3, 2008 in her home. Jessie was born in Champaign County, Ohio on April 10, 1930. She loved being with her family, enjoying her grandkids and great-grandkids. Jessie was very active in her card clubs, grandmothers club, and volunteering for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eugene P. Collins, and three brothers. Her survivors include one daughter Melanie & John Alexander; three sons Eugene & Gayle Collins, Jerrold & Debbie Collins, and Jeff & Sue Collins; two sisters Mary Schroeder and Beatrice Slaven; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 4-7 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Services will be Thursday at 10:00 AM in the memorial home with Rev. Orbie Estep officiating. Burial to follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Community/Physicians Dialysis Center Suite 104 2200 N.
