Clifton's own Michael Smith has been playing acoustic music since the '80's. His early days were filled with bluegrass and country with his "Honeycreek Band". These days his influences include Johnny Cash, Ian Tyson, John Prine, Doc Watson, Tom Russell, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, and he'll still do some bluegrass if requested.
The North River Band was formed in 2009 to entertain you at the Old Clifton Days' festival. Michael is backed up by drummer Lindsey Campana of Fairborn, Dan Meyers on the bass and Susan Myers Heeg on the violin. This talented bunch of musicians will have you rockin'! Check their website for their performance schedule. http://myspace.com/thenorthriverband
On Friday, July 17th the Clifton Opera House will be rocking with Michael Smith and the North River Band. Come out and join us for some great old country with an occasional bluegrassy, rockabilly, old rock and roll tune to keep you clapping.
