This year marks LeAnn’s 16th anniversary as a performer and at just 29 years old, the seasoned vocalist has grown into a strong, confident woman with a broad range of talent and versatility whose appeal spans far beyond her age and the country music genre.
Singer-songwriter, actress and author, LeAnn Rimes has sold more than 37 million albums, won two Grammy Awards, three Academy of Country Music Awards and 12 Bilboard Music Awards. Rimes is the youngest recipient of a Grammy and was also the first country recording artist to win in the “Best New Artist” category. Rimes has placed 42 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, 13 of which are top-10 hits. She has scored numerous hit singles including “Can’t Fight the Moonlight” (which went #1 in 11 countries) and “How Do I Live,” which is the second longest charting song ever on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
LeAnn has released a new album “Lady & Gentlemen,” a tribute to the songs made famous by legendary male performers such as Merle Haggard, George Jones, John Anderson and the late
Waylon Jennings. The Washington Post remarked about her new album, “ Rimes sounds completely at home on the ballads. Her lean, bluesy remake of co-producer Vince Gill’s “When I Call Your Name” is a bold move. But even better is her steel guitar-steeped take of Freddy Fender’s “Wasted Days and Wasted Nights,” a gorgeous vehicle for the husky mix of sensuality and vulnerability in Rimes’s voice when she reaches down into the lower registers.”
