(SPRINGFIELD, OH) – The Springfield Arts Council and the Clark County Historical Society will present “A Valentines’ Dance Party with Satchmo!” on Saturday, February 11 at 7:30 PM at the Heritage Center of Clark County, 117 S. Fountain Ave. in downtown Springfield.

Spend an evening with your special Valentine and dance to the sounds of Dean Simms and his astonishing tribute to “Satchmo” – the one and only Louis Armstrong! When virtuoso trumpeter Dean Simms performs as the legendary Louis Armstrong, astonished fans gasp in amazement! It seems that the spirit of Louis Armstrong is actually being channeled through Simms! Journey through Satchmo’s “bigger than life” career as Simms and his seven-piece band perform “Basin Street Blues,” “When The Saints Go Marching In,” the beloved “It’s A Wonderful World,” “Saint Louis Blues,” and an unbelievable rendition of “Hello, Dolly” that will leave you totally mesmerized! Louis Armstrong blazed a path all the way to the music of today, and “Ambassador Satch” continues to touch the lives of people throughout the world. Bring your Valentine and enjoy an evening of live music with Dean Simms and the Hot Notes Band at “A Valentines’ Dance Party with Satchmo!”

Tickets for “A Valentines’ Dance Party with Satchmo!” are on sale now and may be purchased by calling the Springfield Arts Council at 937-324-2712. Tickets are also available online at springfieldartscouncil.org, or may be purchased in person at the Arts Council’s offices at 117. South Fountain Ave. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
