A large portion of the population experience some kind of low back pain. It comes in many ways: straining muscles during exercise or athletic activity; improperly lifting something too heavy; sitting at a desk or computer all day; standing long hours on concrete floors during work. These often necessary tasks can contribute to low back pain.

Low back pain occurs when the lowest part of the spine and the muscles supporting it get strained in some way. The pain can be acute and very sharp because of injuries. Or it could be dull, chronic pain because of the work you do.

Reflexology can reduce and, in some cases, remove the pain from lower back conditions. A reflexologist can assess the appropriate reflex points on the foot or hand and compress those points in order to break up unwanted blockages accumulated there.

The reflex areas for the low back are along the side of the feet and hands where the big toe and thumb are located. A reflexology treatment concentrating on these reflex points can ease low back pain. More importantly it prevents it from worsening while continuing normal daily activities.

Reflexology in this area can enhance the positive effects of chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy and physical therapy sessions. The treatments can help to restore balance to the spine making your life easier and more comfortable!

Reflex-Touch Point for Lower Back Pain: On both ears, locate the ridge about an inch above the ear canal that is parallel to the floor. Place a thumb on the ridge of each ear. Flatten the ridges against your head with the pads of the thumbs, and apply a sightly upward movement. Work both ears at once. Rest your elbows on a table to avoid strain.
