Evangelist Ziggy Sanchez of Oklahoma City, OK prays for the throng of people at the Word of Faith Family Church in Springfield during a special portion of the service.
God is in the city and Pastor Jim Britton is seeing his prayers come to pass through the revival that is taking place at his church these past weeks. Springfield: City of God is a bumper sticker seen locally and, at the Word of Faith Family Worship Center on route 72 south, it has become a reality.
Ziggy Sanchez, an evangelist from Oklahoma, has experience with long term revivals; some lasting as long as 20-30 weeks in length. Sanchez said, “We just teach the Word of God, He does the rest. The only plans we make is to listen to the Spirit and follow what He is doing and do the same.” Pastor Britton who invited Sanchez to be a guest speaker at the church had no idea that such a wonderful manifestation of God’s love and power would present itself to a hungry region.
To date, more than 20 churches have come together at the meetings. Pastor Britton said, “The attendees are experiencing a supernatural movement that is changing their life.” Sanchez added, “People are receiving salvation, many are being healed, set free from addictions and others simply cannot explain what has taken place in there lives!”
With no ending scheduled the church is looking forward to the coming weeks. “We are so excited by what God has been doing!” Pastor Britton continued, “I want to personally invite all those individuals and churches in our area to come and be refreshed - just come as you are and fall in love with Jesus.”
All denominations are invited to attend and those without a church are welcomed as well. Service is being held Sunday evening at 6:30pm and continuing Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday each week at 7pm.
Directions from Springfield: head South out of Springfield on South Limestone Street, pass under I-70 and continue South for about 1 mile, across from Ramar Estates, on your left is Word of Faith.
From I-70, get off on Springfield/SR 72 (Exit 54) turn South toward Cedarville on S. Limetone for about 1 mile.
