Since 1998 Springfield Christian Youth Ministries has been impacting kids in Springfield City Schools through programs, mentoring and relationship-building activities. The organization will be hosting their 13th annual Ox Roast at Faith In Christ Lutheran Church in Northridge on Saturday, September 18 from 5-7 p.m.
The Ox Roast, put on with the support of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, will feature a kids’ Buckeye Hunt at 6:00, as well as face painting, inflatables, and music by local singer/songwriter Rick L. James. Businesses and individuals can help sponsor the event, which last year raised $17,000 for SCYM programs.
This years Ox Roast will feature a silent auction featuring a gas card, Reds Tickets, an autographed Peyton Manning photo, a professional teeth whitening service, WEEC (Christian radio) gift package, a coffee basket, and more. The auction will run from 5:30 to 6:45.
Supported by a large base of churches, businesses and foundations, as well as a broad spectrum of individual donors, SCYM exists to helps students become mature, responsible Christian adults. For more information about SCYM or the Ox Roast, For more information call at 325-6183.
