Proverbs 19:11-20:3 People with good sense restrain their anger; they earn esteem by overlooking wrongs. Avoiding a fight is a mark of honor; only fools insist on quarreling.
I can tell you that this scripture speaks to me. I have always been a fighter and ready to fight and defend my self and everything I believe in. This word says to avoid a fight is a mark of honor. WOW!
You and I must learn to control our anger and not insist on being right. I know because of my past, I have always had to defend myself because of the cruelty of others. As I grew older it made me controlling and always quarreling to make my point or to have my way.
As I grew older and let the Lord fight my battles, I have learned a mature Christian can avoid the fights and all the insults and offenses when I give it to the Lord. That’s not always easy for me but, I am still walking this out in my life.
My husband has always said to me that most things that upset us and gets us into quarreling with other are things that don’t mean anything in the end. It is just a way the adversary can get in and destroy our relationships.
I don’t know about you but, I do want to be a mature Christian and walk in the light of Christ. It is so important that we watch every word and keep our action in line. I want to honor life and everyone I have contact with. I know sometimes it’s a big job but well worth it in the end. May the Lord keep and watch over you until next week be blessed.
