SPRINGFIELD-- The Kenton Ridge Cougars softball team gained their first victory of the season at Ed Foulk Field on Thursday March 29 by defeating Indian Lake 8-3 in a CBC crossover game. Freshman pitcher Learic Kinser, the starting pitcher for the first time in her career, gave up a single to start the game and a single and a triple in the seventh inning for the only hits of the game for the Lakers. Kinser allowed only three other batters to reach base, including a run-scoring throwing error in the first inning, and a base on balls in each of the fourth and seventh innings. She struck out three. The fourth inning base on balls was the only base-runner Indian Lake could muster between the first and last innings.
