Daughter Of Pilot Visits Museum

DAYTON, Ohio — Telling her father’s story has become the top mission for Christina Olds. Christina Olds, the daughter of the late triple ace and Air Force Cross recipient Brig. Gen. Robin Olds, visited the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force to see her father’s F-4C Phantom, which is on display in the museum’s Modern Flight Gallery, before attending a book signing appearance in Dayton.

Boy Scouts 100th

Mother Goose and Grimm’s Grimmy will grace the uniforms of area Boy Scouts attending the National Jamboree in Fort AP Hill from July 26 through Aug. 4. In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Boy Scouting, commemorative patches may also be purchased by the public to help fund the troop’s trip to the Jamboree. To recognize the centennial, Mike Peters creator and cartoonist of Mother Goose and Grimm, and associate Ben Keirn, worked with Tecumseh Council to create two council patches featuring Grimmy in a prominent role.
SPRINGFIELD — Two failed levies have not deterred the Northeastern Local School District. In fact, Northeastern has one last chance to receive state funding for new buildings, and it all depends on the voters. A special election will take place this Tuesday, August 3, for all Northeastern Local residents to vote on the district’s proposed 7.876 mills property tax that will provide all remaining necessary funding for Northeastern to construct and/or refurbish schools in their district.

Northeastern School Levy

On  Tuesday August 3, 2010, Northeastern Local School District residents will be asked to approve an almost 8 mill 28 year bond issue. The tax levy will cost the owner of a $100,000 home about $6,500 over the life of the levy.

From August 14 to September 12, 2010, Ottmar Hrlon will present his installation “Martin Luther Here I stand” on the market square of Wittenberg, the “City of Luther”.
The annual Clark County Fair kicks off eight days of fabulous family fun this Friday, July 23, running through next Friday, July 30. The Fair not only provides a tremendous entertainment value, but also showcases the hard work and dedication of many young people in our community.

His face brightens a bit after he and his mother reach out to collect small bags of treats presented by the Americans. His recovery room is actually part of an elaborate mobile hospital run by the provincial reconstruction team for the province of Dhi Qar and led by representatives of the Italian government.

Flight Academy’s Fly-In

On Saturday August 7, 2010 there will be an open house at the Springfield Flight Academy at the Springfield Municipal Airport. We would like to bring awareness to the public of all the opportunities in this field in the area. Even if you have never thought about aviation as a hobby or career we should be able to give you the answer to any question you may have. This includes soaring, sky diving and hot air balloons.
