National Museum Of The U.S. Air Force Offers Extended Hours, Park And Ride During Dayton Air Show ^Featured

DAYTON, Ohio -- The National Museum of the United States Air Force will be open until 9 p.m. Saturday, July 17, following the Vectren Dayton Air Show. Museum attractions open for extended hours include the main museum galleries, museum store, Morphis Movieride and two additional IMAX showings -- Fighter Pilot at 7 p.m. and Legends of Flight at 8 p.m. Visitors may also enjoy food and drinks in the Valkyrie Café until 8:30 p.m. The Presidential and Research and Development Galleries will operate on their normal schedules and will not be open for the extended hours.

Those who want to take an easy route to the Vectren Dayton Air Show may park and ride from the museum. An RTA shuttle bus runs from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. on July 17-18. The buses run to and from the museum and drop off riders at the air show ticket booth. Shuttles depart from both locations approximately every 10 minutes. The cost for a round trip ticket is $3, and children age 5 and under ride free.

The National Museum of the United States Air Force is located on Springfield Street, six miles northeast of downtown Dayton. It is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day). Admission and parking are free.
