On Saturday August 7, 2010 there will be an open house at the Springfield Flight Academy at the Springfield Municipal Airport. We would like to bring awareness to the public of all the opportunities in this field in the area. Even if you have never thought about aviation as a hobby or career we should be able to give you the answer to any question you may have. This includes soaring, sky diving and hot air balloons.
We would also like to make everyone aware of the Civil Air Patrol and what it has to offer to their volunteers. If you are at least 12 years of age or older you can become a member of Civil Air Patrol cadet which entitles you to five orientation flights in a powered aircraft and five orientation flights in gliders. Civil Air Patrol is involved in aerospace education, leadership training, emergency services and homeland security. So if you have any interest in flying or the military or both, Civil Air Patrol is a great place to start. Stop by and get all the details.
