Tim Espich informed the group of the many services and programs that are available and some that are forthcoming that will assist veterans who are seeking advice, or some sort of assistance whether it be for schooling, medical care, or disability pensions. He said that Ohio was at the forefront in reaching out and caring for its veterans, offering many programs and services especially for our returning veterans.

  Doug LeValley was the MC of this event and he related all that was occurring in and around Clark County and the Springfield Area. He told the group that many, many, veterans are being served and the ways they are being served.

Frank Lewis was given recognition for his part in raising money for the Honor Flight Program. The Purple Heart Chapter 620 also had a special plaque made for Frank for all he has done for the local veterans and the community. Frank is the owner/operator of the Jackson/Lytle Funeral Home here in Springfield.

Darryl Bauer, who recently interviewed a few members of this Purple Heart Chapter concerning the War Dog Memorial contributions, spoke about how he was honored to be associated with this organization and that he had so much respect for these men and women who served in our armed forces.
 
The women of VFW Local 1031 served a delicious meal complete with coffee and dessert. Thank-you ladies for your wonderful contributions. What you provided really made it all very special.
