BELLEFONTAINE- Students and staff at Ohio Hi-Point Career Center will join others across the nation during the month of February to celebrate Career and Technical Education (CTE) month.
This year’s theme is CTE: Career’s Through Education. CTE Month provides programs and opportunity to demonstrate how CTE educates students to be college- and career- ready and prepares them for high-demand career fields. OHP offers over 37 programs for high school juniors and seniors and industry-leading courses for adult learners.
“We hope the community will take the time to learn about the great opportunities in the high school and in our adult and continuing education divisions and curiosity about Career Technical Education doesn’t end after CTE month,” offered Jeff Price, superintendent.
Activities for high school and adult students will take place during the month of February including:
• An Adult Information Session will be held on Tuesday, February 7 at Kenton North Campus from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The public is invited to visit OHP’s North Campus in Kenton to speak with representatives about course and career options, while receiving one-on-one attention on financial aid paperwork, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Panel experts will represent a variety of career industries and explain the struggles and accomplishments they’ve encountered through running a business. Students interested in a specific industry will then be given the opportunity to speak with panel members one-on-one during a lunch session.
