40, of Huber Heights, Ohio passed away Sunday July 11, 2010. She was born March 17, 1970 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of Charles & Linda (Cantrell) Captain. She is survived by her parents; two brothers, Larry & Melissa Amburgey, Lance Amburgey; five sisters, Lisa Viers, Rachel & David Coleman, Elizabeth Captain, Lori Amburgey, Angela Amburgey; step-brother, James Booher, step-sister, Sarah Booher; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Charles Captain, Jr. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday July 15, 2010 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. RONALD G. SIERECKI, SR.
65, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Friday July 9, 2010. He was born November 23, 1944 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan the son of the late George & Frieda (Veith) Sierecki. He retired in 1988 from the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Doris; sons, Ronald Sierecki, Jr., George & Rhonda Sierecki all of New Carlisle, Robert Sierecki of Miamisburg, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Gloria Gostovich of New Baltimore, Michigan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a granddaughter. The family would like to thank the staff at Belle Manor Nursing Home for the loving care he received. Lt. Col. Raymond M. Griswold
Lt. Col. Raymond M. Griswold (retired USAF), 88 of Springfield passed away Thursday July 8, 2010 in Heartland of Springfield. He was born in Pleasant Plains, Ohio on May 16, 1922, the son of Raymond W. and Irma E. (Bisher) Griswold. Ray served his country in the US Air Force for 27 years as a Pilot, flying an air-sea rescue plane during WWII and Vietnam. He flew in the South Pacific during WW II and was stationed in Morocco, Bermuda, and Amchitka. He also was involved with the H bomb testing at Eniwetok in the Marshall Islands. Following WW II he sailed home on the USS Intrepid. Ray and his wife where long time members of the Springfield Country Club and the Officer’s Club at WPAFB. He was a member of H S Kissell Lodge#674 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Antioch Shrine, Springfield Shrine Club, Kiwanis Club, where he received in conjunction with the Springfield Rotary Club, The Lt Henry A Beckley Award. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, wife Wanda F. Griswold (Dec 16, 2009), and an infant brother. His survivors include his brother and sister in law Dale & Mary Sue Griswold of Cincinnati; sister in law Vera Lambert of Springfield; nieces and nephews Mike Griswold, Kathy Mercurio, Lori Klug, Gretchen Goode, Nannette Lambert, Heidi Kirkpatrick, and Gregg Lambert; several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Heartland of Springfield and Crossroads Hospice and their staffs for the wonderful care and support. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-3 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with Masonic services at 3:00 PM. Services will be Monday at 11:00 AM in the memorial home with Rev. Paul Price officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Ferncliff Cemetery. Memorial contributions are requested to the donor’s choice. Robert Eugene Bartz
Robert Eugene Bartz age 89 of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, July 7,2010. Robertwas born, September 9,1920 in Bucyrus, Ohio, the son of the late Otto & Alice Bartz. He was retired from Springfield City Schools, a WWII Navy Veteran, and a member of the High Street Church of the Nazarene. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine (2001), brothers Harold & Jessie and sister Faythe. Survivors include his sons, Larry (Deanna) Gossett, Houston, Texas, & James (Darlene) Bartz, Springfield, Oh. 11 Grandchildren, numerous Great & Great-Great Grandchildren. A gathering of family & friends will be held from 6-8 p.m., Sunday in the Jackson- Lytle & Lewis Funeral Home, 2425 N. Limestone St., Springfield, with services being conducted at 12:00 (Noon) Monday, July 12,2010 from the High Street Church of the Nazarene, 1625 E. High St., Springfield, with Pastor Bret Layton officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Mausoleum. The family request contributions be made in RobertÂ’s memory to the High Street Church of the Nazarene.
