Reverend Fred Newsome
Reverend Fred Newsome,88, of Springfield, Ohio, was serenaded and carried by a band of angels across Jordan to be with Jesus on July 18th, 2010, at 4:10a.m. Born the son of Jarvie and Lola Hill-Newsome in Pippa Passe, Kentucky, Dec.14th, 1921. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James R. Newsome, brothers Tivis and Joe Newsome. One sister Marjorie Newsome-Winnings. Survived by his loving wife Lucille Slagle-Newsome. Sons LeRoy(Vickie) Newsome, Doug(Carmen) Lightle. Brother Charles Leroy and Betty Newsome, of Hurricane, West Virginia. Fred was a member of CCCU, Beacon St. Springfield, Ohio. Also a veteran of World War II and was retired from Bauer Bros., Springfield, Ohio. Grandchildren: Kevin, John, Jay Newsome, Julian Lightle, Candy Schwalbauch, Tammy Bowling, Robin Clifford, Romena Lightle, Renee, Gabby Hastings, Brigitte Copley, Shane McGlone, Shauna Bowshier, Zach Newsome, Rob and Dwayne Halsey, along with 28 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Services will be Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Joe Dillard officiating, where visitation will begin at 1:30pm.  RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME has been entrusted with the final arrangements. Corwin “Corky” D. Lawson

U.S.M.C., born March 11, 1954 in Richmond, Indiana.  Died July 17, 2010 in New Carlisle, Ohio after a brief illness.  He is preceded in death by his parents, James R. & Shirley D. Lawson and his nephew, Jimmie J. Carpenter.  He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Helen & Larry Carpenter, his brother and sister-in-law, Ward & Paula Lawson; nieces and nephews, Christopher Carpenter, Nikki, Matthew, Jackie, Katy, Steven and Robby Lawson.  He also had 8 grandnieces and grand nephews.  He was loved by everyone he came in contact with while he worked as an aircraft mechanic.  One of his greatest enjoyments was participating in shooting matches.  He won countless awards for his expert marksmanship.  The viewing will be Thursday July 22, 2010 from 11-1 PM with service to follow.  Burial will follow at 3 PM in Dayton National Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in his name.  Arrangements by the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio.  Expressions of sympathy may be sent to www.trostelchapman.com
