Rudolph "Rudy" Hampton
Rudolph "Rudy" Hampton, 76, of Springfield, Ohio passed away July 21, 2010.  He was born in West Bend, Kentucky a son of Walter and Lula (Cooper) Hampton.   Mr. Hampton had been employed by the City of Springfield as a Human Relations Specialist; Clark County Board of Commissioners as Personnel Director; Navistar International as an Employment Interviewer; Western Southern Life Insurance Company where he was the first Black Sales Associate hired by W & S as an associate and he held positions with various other companies. He graduated from Kentucky State University and served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged.  Mr. Hampton had been local president, district director, vice president and international president of the Frontiers International; board member of the Center Street YMCA,  the Springfield YMCA, Kiwanis Club, Center City Community Gospel Choir and Ombudsman for Ohio Long Term Care Program.  He was a very active member of Trinity A.M.E. Church where he was a member of the choir, Bible Study Teacher, Steward and chairman of the Black History Luncheon.  Mr Hampton received many awards including, local and international Frontiersman of the Year, Springfield Urban League Citizen of the Year, Phillips Chapel C.M.E. "Man of the Year" and Kiwanis Club "Member of the Year".  His memory will be cherished by his loving and devoted wife, Pinnia Hampton and his children, Rudayus and Rudolph Jr.  He is survived by his brother, Wilson Hampton of Clay City, Kentucky and sister, Evelyn Williams of Winchester, Kentucky.He was preceded in death by his son, Daryl S. Hampton.  Visitation for Mr. Hampton will be Friday 6-7 p.m. in the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home and Saturday from 12 noon-1 p.m.in Pine Grove C.M.E. Church, Clay City, Kentucky.  Funeral services will follow in the church Saturday at 1 p.m.  Burial in Cooper-Hampton Family Cemetery, Clay City, Kentucky.  Arrangements provided by the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home.


Mildred Duncan

Mildred Duncan, 79 of Springfield, Ohio passed away July 16, 2010.  She was born December 4, 1930  in Springfield, Ohio a daughter of Clarence Frye and Lillian Duncan.  Mildred gave her life to God and was a loving, caring and God fearing mother.  She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Patricia (Louis) Sharpe of Columbus; sons, Richard Fleming of California , Gary (Sheila) Fleming of Springfield and Dean Duncan of Springfield; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Belva L. Yancey and brother, Earl Duncan Sr.  A memorial service will be held Saturday July 24, 2010 at 3 p.m. in the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home.  After the service the family will receive friends at 18 W. Perrin Avenue.
