RICHARD “RD” MOORE
87, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Sunday September 12, 2010.  He was born August 12, 1923 in Marion, Ohio the son of the late Jonathan & Gladys (Hunt) Moore.  He was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army and served in WWII and retired conductor with the B&O Railroad.  He is survived by three sons, Jonathan & Kandy Moore of Englewood, Robert & Joyce Moore of Vandalia, Gary & Brenda Moore of Dayton; three daughters, Eileen & Richard Pape of Dayton, Frances Frank of Sarasota, Florida, Ramona Rench of Westerville; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; great great-grandson; a brother, George & Mary Moore of Wilmington, North Carolina; two sisters, Doris Maeda of Sacramento, California, Margaret Keefauver of Germantown; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Moore; and a brother, William “Bud” Moore.  Private services at the convenience of the family.  Arrangments by the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio.  Expressions of sympathy may be sent to www.trostelchapman.com


Lois A. Powell
After 89 years of service to the Lord, Lois A. Powell has joined her loving husband Herbert M. Powell in Heaven. She was born October 1, 1920 in Bellefontaine, Ohio to Anna B. (Abel) and James E. Melvin. Her two brothers Kenneth and Richard Melvin preceded her in death. She married Herbert M. Powell on June 3, 1943 and resided in Springfield, Ohio until 2003 when she moved to Columbus, Ohio to live with her daughter. Lois is survived by her 3 children; Olivia A. Peck, Fred P. Powell, and Mark M. Powell, as well as 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was a very active member at Calvary Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran Churches. She was a member of the Eastern Stars of Urbana. Her legacy for all that knew and loved her was demonstrated by her being the ultimate Lady. Viewing to honor Lois will be held from 12-1 P.M. Wednesday September 15, 2010 at RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with funeral services at 1:00 P.M. Interment will be in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana, Ohio. Gammon ( Moore ), Donna Jean
73, of Atlanta , GA was born December 3, 1936 in Springfield , Ohio to Catherine Moore. She passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Emory Hospital . She was a native of Springfield but resided in Dayton , Ohio for most of her life. She retired from Montgomery County Department of Human Services after 30 years of loyal and dedicated service. She was preceded in death by her parents and former husband, Leonard Howell; two brothers, Billie and Benjamin Moore. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Jean & Derrick Foward and Elizabeth Brown; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Wyndon & Michelle Gammon and Clarence & Lekeate Knox; former husband, Wyndon Gammon; father of one of her sons, Clarence W. Knox; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a host of relatives and friends. She was especially close to Geraldine Johnson, Sadie Carter, Deborah Hodges, Herman Anderson, Judy Anderson, Milton Harrison and Sergeant Wright. Visitation will be Monday from 10-11 a.m. in Greater Grace Temple, 380 Leffel Lane, Springfield, Ohio. Funeral Service will follow in the church at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Ronald Logan officiating. Interment at Ferncliff Cemetery.  Arrangements provided by the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home.


Wingert, Clara L.
Wingert, Clara L., 87, of Springfield, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 10, 2010. She was born on December 29, 1922, in Springfield, the daughter of the late Howard A. and Mildred F. (Chappell) Michel. Mrs. Wingert was an active member of the Northside Church of God and was the congregation’s first secretary, organist, and senior ministries director.  After graduating from Springfield High School in 1942, Mrs. Wingert served as a secretary, in later years at Wittenberg University and Northside Church of God. She is survived by her loving daughter, Cynthia Wingert of Springfield; beloved granddaughter, Danielle (Ron) Sagers of Beavercreek; great-granddaughter, Madison Sagers; sister, Mary Jane McCowan of Dover, Delaware; stepson-in-law, Roger Carmody of Ostrander; and numerous nieces and step grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Wingert and sister, Martha Gardner. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, September 13, 2010 from 11-1 p.m. at the Northside Church of God, 3705 Middle Urbana Rd. where a celebration of her life will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Gary Swogger officiating. Burial to follow at Vale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Clara to the Northside Church of God. ANNETTE L. SECREST
 90, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Thursday September 9, 2010.  She was born October 22, 1919 in Indianapolis, Indiana the daughter of the late Orville & Frances (Lewark) Stader.  She is survived by her husband, Loy W. Secrest; a son, Jeff & Jackie Thomas; a daughter, Cheryl Caston; four grandchildren;  Barry Rogers, Jeffrey & Joann Thomas, Josie & Dana Logan, Jessica Thomas; eight great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, William Thomas; and a brother, Darrell Stader.  Visitation will be 12-1 PM    Wednesday September 15, 2010 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio.  Funeral services will be   at 1 PM in the funeral home.  Burial will be in New Carlisle Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 3797 Summit Glen Dr. Suite G100, Dayton, OH 45449.  Expressions of sympathy may be sent to www.trostelchapman.com
