Turn on your favorite channel of propaganda and you will be sickened with fear for the rest of the day.  If it is not because of the news of the day, it is because of the newest ‘thing’ to make you feel sexier, better, or younger!  Fleeting designs for shuffling desires.  Information to make you work harder for nothing!

Take a second with me and look around you.  Every person you have ever known, seen, or even known about has either died, is dying, or will die.  Life is so risky that you don’t get out of it alive!  I know what you’re thinking right now but bear with me a moment longer.

The brevity of life should be a tip-off of what is to be pursued!  Life is a starting point, a strategic place of decision for eternity.  Pursue those things that have meaning!  Those things that will remain!  Things like love, grace, mercy, and hope found in the atoning work of God through Christ Jesus!

The Bible teaches us that life is but a vapor.  Here today and gone tomorrow.  We need to seek the Lord with all of our hearts.  He will add those things to our life that we have need of.  He promises food, home, clothing (Mtt 6:25-31).

Free your life and mind of all that is perishing and grasp that which is eternal.  Try to not let the temporary take precedence over the eternal.  Easier said than done but as we mature we find we can do it and should.

This is where you will find peace.  Only through the Son of the living God can you and I be assured of abundant living and unshakable peace.
